Sarong Mahang Tanda Lima Weaving

In Sumbanese, Mahang means lion, it symbolizes power and strength. Lion motif was influenced by the Renaissance style in Europe from the period of King Henry III in the mid XVI century, entering Indonesia through Hindu culture. The antique coloring process has two steps. Where Tanda Lima motif in the middle means palm, it is a hereditary motif represents selflessness and sincerity.
