Maroon Lombok Songket Weave

Similar to Batik Pagi Sore, Lombok’s woven songket boasts dual usability for day and night. Combining the popular Subahnale motif with Alang along the edges, Subahnale features decorative flower-like patterns surrounded by geometric motifs resembling beehives, known as kurungan. The interconnected motifs, placed in a scattered pattern, create a rich tapestry. Meanwhile, Alang draws inspiration from the Sasak tribe’s post-harvest storage symbolizing prosperity.
