Chinese Prayer Cabinet

This traditional Chinese prayer cabinet, is used for ancestral worship or spiritual practices, showcases intricate carved panels with floral and bird motifs. The double doors feature decorative brass hinges and a central lock, with a single drawer below adorned with floral patterns and a brass handle. Below the doors, there is a single drawer used for storing prayer accessories, incense, or ritual tools. The interior is lined with picture newspapers, serving both as protection against dust and wear and as decorative or symbolic elements, a tradition also seen in other East Asian cultures like Korea.
