Nyoba Ngebul
Rp2.500.000
Nyoba Ngebul portrays a lively toy stall scene set in the Keraton, Yogyakarta area during the 1950s. The title, which literally means “trying to blow,” refers to children testing paper trumpets before choosing one to buy. In the painting, a child is absorbed in finding the loudest and most satisfying sound, while the stall owner patiently assists each customer. Though simple and fragile, these paper trumpets brought immense joy to children and became part of the everyday charm of traditional street markets. Surrounding the stall are various colorful toys such as lampions, wayang puppets, miniature trucks, balls, and other handmade amusements that once filled the childhood memories of the era. Mothers and children crowd the scene, creating a warm and bustling atmosphere that reflects the intimate rhythm of life around the Keraton neighborhood.
