Antri Gudeg
Rp2.500.000
ntri Gudeg, meaning “lining up for gudeg,” captures a familiar sight in the streets of Yogyakarta, where locals gather in the morning for one of the city’s most beloved traditional dishes. Gudeg is made from young jackfruit slow cooked for hours with coconut milk, palm sugar, and aromatic spices, creating its distinctive sweet and rich flavor. It is commonly served with rice, hard boiled egg, chicken, tofu, tempeh, and spicy krecek. In this painting, a queue forms patiently around a gudeg vendor as the day begins, with the seller serving meals on banana leaf lined plates while others wait their turn amidst the lively morning bustle. The warm atmosphere reflects the intimate rhythm of daily life surrounding the Keraton neighborhood, where tradition, community, and simple pleasures continue to shape the character of Yogyakarta.
