Buddha Padmasana, seated in the lotus position, symbolizes spiritual purity and balance. A rare and meaningful detail in this depiction is the presence of a crow perched on the Buddha’s head, evoking the story of The Buddha and the Crow. In the story, the Buddha gently guides a sorrowful crow who feels unloved because of his black feathers. Through encounters with other birds, the crow learns that suffering is not caused by appearances, but by discontentment and comparison. The Buddha teaches that peace comes from within, by accepting oneself and being grateful for life as it is.
