Blue Junjung Derajat

Junjung Derajat refers to the vertical arrangement of the Mega Mendung cloud motif, where the same design is oriented upward to symbolize the hope that the wearer may experience an elevation of dignity, personal growth, and moral standing within society. The term junjung derajat literally means to uphold or raise one’s status, expressing aspiration rather than a literal social rank. When the very same cloud motif is arranged horizontally, it is more commonly known as Mega Mendung, an iconic motif originating from Cirebon, West Java. Derived from the words mega meaning cloud and mendung meaning cloudy, Mega Mendung conveys the philosophy of self control, patience, and emotional balance during times of sadness or inner turmoil. In both orientations, like clouds that cool the atmosphere, the motif reminds the wearer to remain calm, wise, and composed under any circumstances.
