Blue Purple Orchid

When the Dutch entered Indonesia, not only brought changes in the social and cultural aspects of the archipelago, but also in the art of batik. Around 19th century, Pekalongan was the centre of Indo-European business area and the batik bouquet design became the most important fashion at the time. The design was identified by a large bouquet of flowers surrounded by butterflies and birds in a plain background.
