Tonoling Sapali is a Torajan woven motif crafted on Sekomandi, a traditional textile from Kalumpang Village, Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi. Believed to be one of the oldest surviving woven textiles in the world, Sekomandi dates back more than 480 years. The motif symbolizes diligence, patience, steadfastness, and strength in upholding one’s principles. It also reflects the deep sense of kinship and closeness shared among people, even when they are not bound by blood.
