Classic Javanese Wing Oil Lamp

Dlupak or Celupak, a basic lighting device without a handle, cap, or wick hole, originated during the Majapahit kingdom in the 9th century. Fueled by oil extracted from animal fat or plants, these lamps often showcase winged designs like birds, flying horses, or winged humans. The wings play a crucial role in shielding the flame from gusts of wind, preventing easy extinguishing.
