This wooden carving is originally inspired by Chinese Wedding Robe. Although in Indonesia around 1900, this style was introduced as baju Peh-ki and Hoa-kun in order to show the Chinese identity among Peranakan. Baju Peh-ki translated to fitted blouse and Hoa-kun means pleated skirt that has decorative borders.
