Endek is a traditional woven textile from Bali that began to flourish during the reign of King Dalem Waturenggong in the Gelgel Klungkung Kingdom in the 16th century. Over time, it spread across many Balinese villages, including Sulang, Tenganan, and Tanglad, with production involving a creative process of selecting fine threads, applying natural dyes, and incorporating innovation. Recognized as a treasured Indonesian textile, Endek continues to evolve and has become a favorite in the textile industry. Among its designs, the floral motifs highlight stylized forms of plants, reflecting both aesthetic beauty and the natural richness of Bali.
