Dayak Brass Aso Dragon Ear Weights

Rp1.250.000

Among the Dayak communities of Borneo, the practice of elongating the earlobes was often accompanied by the use of heavy ear ornaments made from solid cast brass, which signified prestige and social power. These ornaments were commonly decorated with the aso motif, a dragon-dog figure that holds important symbolic meaning in Dayak culture. The Aso is believed to protect communities from evil spirits and other harmful supernatural forces. Within many Dayak societies, long earlobes were historically regarded as an important standard of beauty. For women especially, elongated ears were associated with elegance, grace, and refinement.
