Klono Sewandono, also known as Raja Klono, is a key antagonist in the Panji dance-drama, a traditional Javanese performance that tells the legendary adventures of Prince Panji. The Klono Sewandono dance is characterized by dynamic and expressive movements, emphasizing his role as Raden Panji’s rival. He is traditionally depicted with large eyes, a hooked nose (pagotan), a wide mouth, and a thick beard—features that enhance his bold and imposing presence. His face is typically painted red to symbolize his fiery temper and bravery, but this particular piece remains unfinished, giving it a more contemporary aesthetic.
