In Indonesia, cotton gins were traditionally used to clean raw cotton before weaving textiles. The process involved feeding the cotton through adjustable wooden rollers to separate the seeds from the fiber. Afterward, the clean cotton was aired in the sun and carded before being spun, wound, and woven. Traditional communities often decorated their tools, adding personal pleasure to their daily work.
