The spatial layout of Majapahit buildings reflects the urban design principles of the Majapahit Kingdom, drawing on Hindu-Buddhist teachings. This arrangement, known in Bali as Tri Mandala, emphasizes a harmonious relationship between humans and God, humans with one another, and humans with nature. The layout is divided into three zones: the main, middle, and lower sections. The main section, associated with spirituality, serves purposes such as worship and meditation, akin to the senthong in a Joglo house. The middle section houses functional spaces like the living room, bedrooms, and kitchen, while the lower section is designated for the bathroom and waste disposal.
