Grey Red Manu Kurangu Weaving

This weaving combines the Manu (rooster) and Kurangu (lobster) motifs, each rich in Sumbanese symbolism. The Manu motif represents awareness, leadership, and manliness, as the rooster’s crow awakens people and signifies a man’s role as the protector and provider for his family. The Kurangu motif embodies the belief in life’s cyclical nature, symbolizing renewal, hope for eternal life, and transformation. Together, these motifs reflect a harmonious balance of responsibility, resilience, and the enduring connection between life, leadership, and hope.
