Journey of Ancestor Masterpiece

Rp75.000.000

TAKALA proudly presents a four-meter-long masterpiece of carvings, narrating the untold story of Waerebo, the village above the clouds. Crafted from native Flores acacia wood with a soil finish, this artwork exudes a primitive charm. It chronicles the journey of Waerebo’s ancestors, who sailed from distant lands and made stops in Minangkabau, Toraja, and Minahasa. The carvings reflect these regions’ contours and strokes. Ultimately, the ancestors settled in East Manggarai, the safest place at the time. The horse engraving at both ends of the ship symbolizes the revered Minangkabau event, with the ancestors known as “janggang polo,” meaning “the best sniper,” embodying strength, precision, and unwavering determination.
