The Kuaran bird, a creature of local folklore, is believed to transform from the caterpillar of the bulanak fish, existing as a bird on land and a fish in water. Capturing this mystical bird requires a sacred ritual and a specialized trap crafted from sap storage containers, a traditional design originating from Kampar, Riau. These sap storage traps, ingeniously repurposed, are coated with sticky sap to ensnare the elusive bird, reflecting the deep connection between cultural practices, nature, and the ingenuity of local traditions.
