Pagi Sore Yellow Pink Peony

Peonies are a popular floral motif in Batik Pekalongan. This layered-petalled flower represents prosperity and happiness. During Tang Dynasty in China, this flower was first grown in the palace grounds. China’s strong influence on Batik Pekalongan motifs, mixed with pastel hues from Europe, results in a delicate and elegant batik.
