Panji and Dewi Sekartaji Blawong

Rp2.750.000

Blawong originates from the words “blabak,” meaning wooden board or place, and “dhuwung,” meaning keris (a traditional Indonesian dagger). Thus, “blawong” refers to a place where a keris is displayed on the wall. This blawong is adorned with carvings of wayang (shadow puppet) figures, specifically depicting Panji and Dewi Sekartaji, positioned between the upper world and the common world of shudra, the lowest caste in Hindu belief. The story of Panji and Dewi Sekartaji tells of the enduring love and trials faced by the prince and princess, symbolizing loyalty, perseverance, and unity despite obstacles. Their tale is deeply rooted in Javanese tradition and reflects ideal virtues and harmony.
