Peplendoan-Gringsing Woven Ikat

Rp1.750.000

Peplendoan-Gringsing Combination Woven is a traditional Balinese textile that merges two distinct weaving styles: Peplendoan, known for its vibrant color combinations symbolizing harmony in diversity, and Gringsing, a sacred double-ikat technique revered for representing balance, harmony, and protection from negative energies. Unlike traditional Gringsing, which uses the complex double-ikat method, this textile employs a single-ikat weaving technique, resulting in a lighter and simpler appearance. Its design features a blend of stripe motifs and the Cecempakaan motif, inspired by the fragrant cempaka flower. Often worn as a selendang (shawl) or kemben dada (chest wrap) in religious ceremonies, this textile holds deep cultural and spiritual significance in Balinese tradition.
