Pintun Jambur Wooden Door

Rp7.750.000

Pintun Jambur is a wooden door panel from the entrance of a sapo, a traditional Batak Karo rice granary. At its center is a prominent three-dimensional carving of a cicak (gecko), a figure rich in Batak symbolism. In Batak belief, the cicak is linked to Boraspati ni Ruma, the spiritual guardian of the home, and Boraspati ni Tano, the deity of fertility and the earth. This motif often appears in traditional gorga carvings and on the main pillars of rumah bolon, symbolizing protection, prosperity, and ancestral blessings. The gecko’s ability to adapt to diverse environments also reflects a philosophical message of resilience, flexibility, and survival, qualities highly valued by the Batak people in facing life’s challenges.
