Sahan Wall Decoration

The Batak tribe’s healers stored their herbal medications in Sahan. It is made from buffalo horn that has been artistically carved. Not only being a pretty accessory, but it also offers a greater purpose by increasing the medicine’s resistance.
Additionally, Sahan is utilized as a place to store ancestral ashes which are placed in front of the fence because it is thought to ward off evil spirits and prevent disease.
