Tumpal Pagi Sore

Rp3.500.000

The term “tumpal” originates from the Javanese language, meaning ‘tip’ or ‘end’. History mentions that the decorative motif of tumpal has existed since the time of the kingdoms in Indonesia and is commonly found along the northern coast of Java island. Tumpal holds a philosophical meaning in accordance with the concept of cosmic unity, microcosm (human), macrocosm (universe), and metacosm (the ‘other’ realm) from worldly attributes towards divinity. This batik is combination of Pagi Sore batik with the Geblok Kasur motif symbolizing cleanliness, and the Lereng motif representing the courage to face challenges with distictive Lasem’s red and blue colors.
