This coin blends Chinese, Javanese, and Balinese symbolism, with its round shape and central hole reflecting Chinese beliefs in harmony between heaven and earth. Balinese motifs like the sulur (vines) represent growth and life, while the horse symbolizes courage and warrior spirit, believed to hold magical power. The depiction of a pura (temple) links the coin to Balinese Hindu rituals, where pis bolong coins are used as offerings or spiritual charms. Instead of Chinese script, these coins often feature sacred imagery thought to carry spiritual energy, especially when worn or used in ceremonies. Known as Gobog Majapahit, this type of coin also features wayang characters and was valued during the Majapahit era for both its economic and symbolic significance.
