Vintage Copper Ceplok Kawung Batik Stamp

Rp2.500.000

This copper batik stamp features the Ceplok Kawung motif, one of the oldest batik patterns from Yogyakarta, characterized by a symmetrical arrangement of repeating geometric forms such as circles, squares, or stars. The Ceplok tradition often incorporates natural ornaments like flowers or animals and symbolizes balance, order, and the gathering of good virtues, with well-known variations including Kawung, Grompol, and Kembang Kates. The Kawung motif itself is defined by circular shapes resembling the kawung fruit (aren palm or kolang-kaling) arranged in a precise and harmonious geometric pattern. In some interpretations, the motif is also seen as a stylized lotus flower with four unfolding petals. The lotus symbolizes purity, spiritual refinement, and longevity, adding a deeper philosophical meaning to this classical Javanese batik design.
