Wayang Golek is a traditional Indonesian form of rod puppetry, particularly prominent in Sundanese culture. Originating in the 17th century, these three-dimensional wooden puppets are meticulously carved and painted, often used to depict stories from Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as Islamic tales. The dalang, or puppeteer, manipulates the puppets with rods, bringing them to life with expressive movements and storytelling, accompanied by a traditional gamelan orchestra. One particular Wayang Golek figure, Loro Blonyo, symbolizes family harmony. These performances not only entertain but also serve as a medium for preserving and conveying cultural heritage and moral lessons.
