Buketan Kawung is a batik design that blends Javanese and Indo-European styles. The buketan motif, meaning “bouquet,” draws inspiration from European floral aesthetics and often features butterflies and birds, symbolizing growth, transformation, and peace. Meanwhile, the kawung motif, used as the background, is one of the oldest Javanese batik designs, characterized by oval shapes resembling palm fruits or lotus petals, representing balance, purity, and universal harmony. Together, these motifs create a striking visual narrative, seamlessly merging local tradition with European influence.
